It was a bad law that the Dems passed.
Pretty much closed all avenues for any raise in wages except at the state level.
Not even any requirements to review annually nor is there any COLA increased in there either.

Minimum wage since 1938 - CNNMoney

'70.
Minimum wage was increased in February of that year.

If you want accurate minimum wage history go to a government site.

Then why do the Democrats still try to block his progressive agenda? Didn't some AG lay false charges against him recently? Why are the Democrats up there so radical? Can't they support the Gov?

Interesting.

The statute is apparently one from a hundred years ago., and refers to:

Quote:
Low-Wage Workers Confront Scott Walker, Accuse Wisconsin Of Breaking The Law | ThinkProgress
a 1913 law unique to Wisconsin that requires that the state minimum wage “shall not be less than a living wage,” which is defined as one that ensures “reasonable comfort, reasonable physical well-being, decency, and moral well-being.”
So a kid with a paper route must be paid enough to pay the rent for an apartment, pay the utilities, buy food, pay the heat bill (which gets high in Wisconsin in the winter)... and now pay for Obamacare on top of it all?

If a state enacts a law that is completely impossible to fulfill, does the Governor still have a responsibility to enforce it?

You may have a valid point.

Has anyone actually found this statute in the Wisconsin law books?

What is its volume, chapter, and statute number?

It got passed in 2004 and signed 2005.
Wage laws came under the state. Cities and municipalities gave up their right to set wages.

Passed by a Repub legislature and signed by a Dem Governor.

This law is vague at best and no has defined a livable wage yet.

Why are these minimum wage people content in staying in a lower job. Something wrong with that picture. Most big box like Wal-Mart and Target pay 12.00 a hour. Even Walgreens.
When minimum wage is below the poverty level, we tax payers will pay to provide these people with food stamps, healthcare, earned income credit, etc..... Meanwhile the CEO of McD's is raking in more than he can spend. Something wrong with that picture?
