Is there even a single person out there who doesn't think that 'daily use over a longer period' (which is also the point where the 'bad for you' kicks in) isn't going to have some sort of negative effect on them?

Yes, taking drugs every day means you have a problem and it's not going to get better. What an astounding revelation!

Eating copious amounts of fat, salt and sugar is also bad for you and leads to depression, diabetes, etc... should we ban those too?

Stay on topic.

I will not entertain the perpetual whine about alcohol to deflect from the topic of dope.

Want to discuss alcohol, start a thread.

It absolutely is on topic & it's humorous that you can't answer a simple question. Why? Because you know that alcohol is a huge problem yet it's still legal, you still want it to be legal. Marijuana is not a huge problem yet you want it to be illegal. For what reason exactly? Do you have a good reason for keeping pot illegal when alcohol is so much worse for you?

There are many things "bad" for you that people consume, and some people in rather large amounts, everyday; so your point?

I'm sure that you know that use does not equal abuse.
Yes it does.

I'm all for personal responsibility. Nevertheless, I'd rather see drug abuse as a medical issue, and not a criminal issue. I'm sick of my tax dollars being wasted on ruining the lives of people that want to partake in the consumption of a plant. Go after the real f***n' criminals, instead of trying to sit back on your laurels in getting easy payday by shaking down stoners!
And I am sick of my tax dollars being used to treat stoners.

My mind works quite well. Well enough to see that "Reefer Madness" propaganda that you continue to cling to is BS!
It will affect you. Just wait and see.

My, you are an awfully judgemental and hateful individual it seems. How about quit passing laws attempting to legislate morality, because you feel "icky" about something. It's really simple as Casper and others have said... if you don't like it, don't do it!
I hate stupid behavior one of which is stoned idiots trying to escape from reality. That makes them losers.

See above.

Sorry, I don't partake in "dope" as in heroin, or other opiates! So, I guess you won't have to worry about that, now will you.
Not I personally as I will ignore the human wreckage as a result of their freedom of choice.

Sorry, but it is part of the topic. Your premises is that dope should be banned because it is bad for you, yet you ignore the numerous other things that are bad for a person yet completely legal. You ignore this because it counters your argument, which is not based on facts, but by ideology.

I still want someone to answer why they needed an amendment to the Constitution to prohibit alcohol, and an amendment later repealing it, yet no such amendment was implemented in prohibiting cannabis? It couldn't be that our government did an end around to appease special interests like the paper industry, DUPONT, and today Big Pharma, who feared they would lose money due to an inferior product now could it? Nah! That can't be it!

It cannot be stressed enough that cannabis is a major contributor to mental illness in US.
