We need all partys to go away.

Clinton lost the House and Senate in 1996. Was his entire presidency a failure?

Eisenhower lost the Senate in 1958. Was his entire presidency a failure?

A presidency's success should not be based on the electoral fortunes of that President's party in the legislature. One has nothing to do with the other. If you want to rephrase and say "Obama's power as 2nd term campaign boost to his own party will be a failure if the Demcorats lose the Senate" then fine, I'll buy that.

No no, judge the failure of Obama on actual president stuff. Like all the scandals in the Executive branch, dead ambassadors and border control agents, Americans assassinated with drones and exactly zero due process, breakdown of American standing globally, various negative economic factors hitting 30-40 year records, etc. A do nothing Dem Senate in a really bad year to be both Democrat and do nothing going back to GOP hands is not shocking, nor even particularly telling. All Obama can be blamed for their is that his failures as President cannot save Emperor Reid's minions from their electoral fate.

It has already attained that status if one weights the good against the bad.......
Bad for health care.
Bad for real jobs.
Bad for hope.
Bad for leadership
Bad for listening to the public.
Bad for being honest
Bad for being for minorities
The list go's on and on.
But Obama has been good at some things...
Good at cover ups
Good at deception
Good at talking out of his ass..
Good at crushing hope.
SO there you go,,,Get out your scale....

Obama's presidency will be looked at as a success just 10 years from now. Health care reform, American recovery, return to somewhat favorable standing globally, and exposing the dying breed of conservative racism in America.

If being smart depends on the lies a person tells, and their ability to successfully deceive and mislead people, then yes, Obama was brilliantly deceptive and boldly dishonest in 2008 and 2012.

Happy now?

Just the opposite of everything you said is the truth. The gullibility of people like you will be front and center, when the history of the Obama presidency of failure, ineptitude and corruption is written.

So?

It is not possible to rationally evaluate any admin without the benefit of decades to grasp cause/ effect. And even then......

I prefer to believe presidents seek to do the best they can with the cards they are dealt. They all inherit debt. They all add to it. They all kick the can. They all get blind- sighted by their own administrations. They all make mistakes. And there is no way they can please everyone.

Fund raising is the top priority of every national and state politician.
The guy who proves most capable of raising funds for himself and party gets his party's nomination.

In 1958 Dwight Eisenhower saw his GOP lose control of the Senate and the House, In 1986 Ronald Reagan 's GOP lost control of the Senate and in 1994 Bill Clinton's Democratic Party lost control of the House and Senate. The same happened to George W. Bush in 2006. Does anyone seriously consider Ike, Ronny,W or Bill a failed President. In fact , Bill Clinton was re-elected by a larger margin in 1996 (2 years later) than he was in 1992 after suffering his bad night in '94.

He also out smarted Hillary Clinton and her people!!! In fact, that was the hardest part of the Obama 2008 compaign. One could say the Obama 2008 effort "Out smarted, Out played and Out lasted" Hillary 2008 to get the Democratic tribe to put out Hillary's torch. She hasn't forgiven him you know.
