Does disliking the military make you a bad person? (support, job, war)

I don't get why people worship them so much. Why? Nobody cares if you criticize the cops but the military are just international cops.

I very much dislike what the military is doing but I don't blame the "military". I blame those deciding what they are doing. As a country we clearly need a military. A military must follow orders. If the military didn't do that we wouldn't be a country.

So I dislike those deciding what the military is doing.

Actually it depends. If you dislike the size of our military, and what it does, thats one thing. But if you dislike the people its another. So define what you mean by "dislike the military"

I didn't like the Military when I was IN IT!

No one is under any obligation to like the Military.

And this obsequious worship of the military gets on my nerves too.

Respect the job they do just like they respect yours...and leave it at that.

So you do hold the same admiration for the people taking orders to perpetrate the Holocaust? Sometimes following orders is not an excuse.

I wouldn't call it worship...just extreme gratitude. They put their country first before themselves and family. Being in a war zone for months at a time and multiple assignments affects you emotionally and physically. You have no family support that you can go home to every day. And some come home never the same. Comparing cops to the military is comparing apples to oranges.
