I supported the Republican Agenda in the 2014 Midterm Elections because:

1. Snyder brought us 4 straight balanced budgets after inheriting 30 straight years of budget deficits.
2. Snyder made public pensions solvent and fixed structural problems.
3. Snyder was adult enough to tackle the corruption and inefficiencies in places like Detroit, Muskegon Heights, etc...instead of just kicking the can down the road or throwing money at the local corrupt politicians to squander.
4. I voted for some Democrats down the ballot, but Snyder is hands down the most adult governor in my state in my lifetime - he actually tackles problems that previous politicians ignored.
5. Obama is a pathological liar and the Democrats refuse to hold him accountable for anything.

1. I believe in a limited, constitutional government

2. I am against Obama's unconstitutional power grab via executive action and unilaterally changing legislation without consulting congress

3. I believe that lower taxes stimulate the economy

4. Obamacare is a fiasco that has personally raised my premiums, and led to the liquidation of my mom's job via re-structuring.

5. I am terrified at the incompetence of Obama's foreign policy- he should be ashamed of his glib, puerile comment to Mitt Romney regarding Russia in the presidential debate. Lets not even get into ISIS, China, etc.

6. Because Obama has been a total fraud in terms of limiting government power. His increased use of drones, etc. has been worse than Bush. Limiting government power is the one thing I could have supported him on, and he turned out to be just another hypocritical, power hungry lefty. Let us not even talk about the IRS.

7. Because I would like the Keystone pipeline bill passed.

8. Because I believe that a sovereign nation defends its borders.

9. Because Obama's carbon tax ideas would be an absolute disaster for the economy.

10. Because Regan's economic plan produced a far more robust recovery in two years than Obama's has in six (with the much, much greater problem of stagflation).

11. Because a socialist economy (call it whatever you like- I don't want to quibble over terminology) is unsustainable. We are watching the collapse of Europe in real time, and foolishly adopting policies that make us like them

12. Because I believe in federalism.

Really, I could go on and on, but why bother? I understand that you intended this thread to have a certain degree of smugness, but perhaps, just perhaps, you can see that other people with equal (or even superior) intelligence and education to yourself actually sometimes see things differently on principle.

And if you don't, prepare to lose even more elections, because, despite what you may have heard, the GOP is not going anywhere.

Peace.

I voted for certain GOP because:
1. He is anti- amnesty or reward for illegals.
2.He is for holding businesses accountable for hiring illegals.
3. He is for limiting our use of our military
4. He is for streamlining the fed to make it more efficient.
I voted for Wolf for Governor for 1 reason. Corbett needed to be fired. I don't like Wolf or what he stands for, but Corbett sucked.

For state legislature: I voted GOP because the Dem was for doubling state tax, increasing property tax and a number of other issues that should scare any sane person.
DING best answer yet.

And that is how democracy works. Its just a pendulum that swings back and forth over time. One group is in power until their lies and ineptness becomes so obvious that no one can ignore it. So then they get replaced by another group who offers change, and especially who offer "economic improvement". Until their lies and ineptness becomes so obvious that people again want change.

People are less voting for Republicans as they are voting against Obama, in that same way in 2008 they were less voting for Democrats than they were voting against Bush.

Obviously this thread was written by a pot who was trying to call the kettle black.

What he should be doing instead is trying to figure out a way to change democracy to where it doesn't suck. Of course, you would think if there was a way to fix democracy, it could have been done sometime in the last ~225 years. Yet, it seems to be getting worse instead of better.

3. I wanted the party more focused on the economy to win.

8. I like a solid Legislative check on Executive power.

Believe me, I could keep going, but I already went past your intended trolling limit.
Excellent post.

So your saying that Democrats are poor potheads that don't use electricity or need gas and couldn't care less if ISIS chops off your head. A Democrat that says I don't want to work for it but I want what you have.
