The question is not if marijuana is harmless. The question is that marijuana is more harmless then cigarettes or alcohol that are legal. We only say marijuana is harmless in context of being more harmless then legal substances.
If we compare alcohol abuse with marijuana abuse long term, alcoholics develop stomach problems.
They develop a LOT more than stomach problems. . . have you never heard of cirrhosis of the liver? Nerve damage? Sexual problems? Permanent brain damage? Hell, stomach problems are just the start.

Care to quote some sources to back up just how harmful, note the correct spelling, it is? Specifically, compared to tobacco?
Smoking is NOT the only way to ingest cannabis.
I think smoking is the worst way to go, as burning ANY matter and ingesting it will have ill effects on the lungs. BUT, there have been studies that show smoking cannabis is less harmful than tobacco.

Also, everyone who is over the age of say, 15, knows the damage/effects of alcohol. What about tobacco?
