Gotcha , I was a little confused at that statement when I read it as first.

Democrats are good at emoting. Governing? Not so much.

This shows how deep and devastating the rejection of the Democratic party was in this last election. Stunning, absolutely stunning. Democrats need to have a serious discussion among themselves to learn what they are doing wrong.
It's fantastic to see. I don't think anyone really saw this coming. It seems to highlight the fact that the political winds can shift so fast in this nation, for it was just in 2012 that people were saying the Republicans needed to do some soul-searching!

These Dem. senators can at least rest assured that they join the long list of people that Obama has thrown under the bus in his political career. He is a man fixated on his power and legacy, as well as his outdated, un-American ideology that he just can't seem to let die. As the old Marxists always say, the ends justify the means...and Obama has done virtually everything he can to fundamentally transform this country. It's reassuring to see that it hasn't worked- yet- and has resulted in this major backlash and referendum on his presidency.

They're good at emoting, playing the race card, and using divisive tactics to get out the vote. Pretty sad when you can't run on your agenda; you've got to rely on identity politics and scare tactics to bring out the poor, minorities, and women to vote for you.

Off the top of my head, I can think of numerous Republican governors that have gotten a lot done in the last 4 years in their states. Are there any major Democrat success stories?

The most important thing about control of state legislatures, and governorships, is that is a party's farm team . Where the major leaguers get trained and developed. This could spell long term problems for the state and national minority party; the Democrat Party.

It will be very interesting to see if the Republican Party will effectively use this potentially huge advantage.

Not really, the President almost always suffers defeats at the midterm. That's usually from lack of support of voters coming out to vote though. The people voting for his rivals were not going to vote for him anyway. The vast majority of people never vote any different so it's always a race to see which side can gain more enthusiasm. The belief that people would vote out a Congressmen that they love and brings lot back to their district because they dislike the policies of the President is a lot of bologna. As it was said "All politics is local."

That's a slap in the face to my grandparents who lived in 1960s rural Southeast Texas.

I couldn't of said it better myself. I say this all the time, so of course I agree with you.
