Let's strike a deal - ban the use of "Holidays" for you, ban Christmas advertisements until the week of the holiday for the rest of us. Deal?

I don't celebrate it and I do get sick of Christmas by the time December 25th actually arrives, but it's because of "Christmas creep" and the balls-out consumption orgy that accompanies it. I find it somewhat sickening and pathetic.

I don't hate the concept of Christmas as a Christian celebration as the birth of their savior, though. No issue there.

I am frequently told "Merry Christmas" in December. I'm Jewish, but it's not like I have it tattooed on my forehead or anything. And since we have freedom of religion in this country (for now), I don't have to wear a yellow star on my shirt. So people have no idea I'm Jewish when they say it to me. I don't get offended.

December belongs to Christmas entirely. Just because the actual day is on the 25th does not mean you should only decorate for that particular day.

In the movies people always buy and decorate their trees on Christmas Eve.

It doesn't take much to offend the delicate and limp wristed here. Back in the day hides were tough and this sort of thing folks didn't let bother them.

Um...no. December belongs to many other days. The first one that comes to mind is Pearl Harbor. Enjoy Christmas, decorate to your hearts content. Stores? Fine, it's Christmas! Saying the whole month of December belongs to Christmas, naive

If you want to claim the whole month of December, awesome! Happy Holidays to you. After all, December is home to quite a few of them.

Went to the mall today and they were already playing Christmas music. I don't like to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving is over.

That was my parents' custom when I was a little kid. Santa decorated the tree on Christmas Eve. It comes from the German tradition. It also seems to be more customary in the midwest to trim the tree later rather than sooner, maybe b/c there are a lot of German ancestry people there.
