Every city/town/burb had it's share of speakeasys where folks would go and drink up. I know of no such places for smoking weed - it puts the marijuana criminal element in this country down low on the rungs, no? We don't have gangland slayings "Mexican style" in this country and decriminalization would ensure it remains so. If government kept away from the entire subject things would be better as everything they touch turns to pooh.

Everyone should grow their own.

What happens in other countries is their problems. We go to enough countries and kill those we don't want to deal with; want to go into old Mexico now?
Jesus y'all,

Marijuana is not the main income of cartels, or export of Mexican cartels. Its harder drugs.

Most marijuana in the United States comes from my home state, and our neighbor state to the north. We produce anywhere between 40 and 60% of the marijuana consumed in the United States. Only about 20% is produced in foreign countries, and even then, half of that comes from Mexico.

Most of the Mexican cartels money is from hard drugs, with a much high ROI for the transportation cost.

So if Marijuana users and other drug users weren't using these imported drugs this wouldn't have happened. Blame them.
With all those drugs being used, I didn't kill anyone. I wonder why not since the use caused these people to kill. What's the difference? Oh yeah, I'm not a murderous thug.

Don't forget Meigs County, Ohio. Ever hear of Meigs County Green? Of course even despite it being decriminalized to a degree here where 100 grams is a $100.00 fine, the state of Ohio has stepped up their efforts in p***ing our taxpayers money away in trying to erradicate it. Then again we have two neocons running things here with Governor Kasich and Attorney General DeWine. I'm sure they have Big Pharma in their back pockets, and given that the health care industry up here in Cleveland is quite the boom right now, and is considered one of the best in the country... well.... you do the math.

People think drugs are a victimless crime, but thousands of victims have died just because Americans have an appetite for drugs. It's like the Chinese buying ivory. They don't see anything wrong with it, but tell that to the elephants.

And california, and colorado, and washington, and many others. But we produce, between Tennessee and Kentucky, around 40 to 60% of the national crop.

We have about 1.3% of the national smokers.

Its the number one cash crop in both states, and if we can get a governor worth a damn, 75% of people in the state think it should be legal. People here are more concerned with abortion rights then anything. The farmers like it being illegal, more money for them.

Its just the point that the OP is dead wrong on blaming marijuana smokers for this. If he wants to look at the drugs they make money on, it comes from the hard stuff, the things most people don't want to see legalized. I just don't like the blame laid on the green door step, its a game of the prohibitionists

if people did not buy cheap Asian merchandise their wouldn't be thousands of people killed in slave working conditions. like the 1200 plus textile workers that died in the Bangladesh building collapse!!!! get rid of your ipad and cloths

see how that works??

ohh and by the way comparing someone that smokes pot to people the buy exploited animals parts, just doesn't cut it.. if people were allowed to grow their own the cartels would be out of the pot business..

Actually, you should blame Obama and his war on drugs. End the war on drugs and you will end the Mexican Cartel violence.
