Bicycles don't use any power to run, that is like saying we should ban walking.

Yep, darn that the government actually decided to do something by banning incandescent bulbs, if only they would be more of a do nothing government. I am sure you will be okay without incandescent bulbs, maybe you can write your Congressman to reverse the ban.

And again if its such a great leap forward why is a law required? When the automobile was introduced, no one thought to ban the horse and buggy.
I am waiting for him to say that he wants to force Amish people to drive cars because horses and buggies are "inferior" and "obsolete".

You do realize you're trying to spin now. You argued that leaded gasoline was banned because it was obsolete. You were wrong. Now you're trying to act like you didn't say that. Leaded gasoline only became 'obsolete' after it was banned due to health implications. It was never banned due to obsolescence, like you say the reason incandescent light bulbs were banned.

Look, incandescent light bulbs were not banned due to obsolescence. They were banned to benefit companies like GE because no one was buying their CFL bulbs. It was corporate welfare, a payoff, whatever you want to call it. Your analogy doesn't stand and neither does your argument. Care to try another?

What was the purpose behind the incandescent bulb ban?

Why are you so against people having free choice?

But you claim incandescent light bulbs were only banned because they were obsolete. So why aren't we out there banning everything that is obsolete. Bicycles, candles, horseback riding - I could go on and on. See, that doesn't make sense, does it and neither does your argument that incandescent light bulbs were banned due to obsolescence.

Horse and buggies don't consume or waste electricity like incandescent bulbs.

It really doesn't matter why they were banned. If anyone has a problem with it then blame Bush.

Well I am sorry you want to buy obsolete technology still when there are much better things out there.
You must be very young to believe what you do concerning lighting. What different kinds of fixtures have you had in your different houses and what have you had to light for safety/security reasons? How did you arrive at the conclusion incandescent is obsolete and why? What was the AHA! moment for you and how does it apply to one and all?

I already know you to be a liberal and you guys are generally misguided treehuggers when it comes to much of this stuff. You know what the media tells you rather than real life experience.

You guys and your need to have obsolete light bulbs, it is just too funny. If you don't want to government to do anything, then move to a country with no government. Then your problems would be solved.
