Here's the liberal MSNBC asking the question "Is Obama overusing his executive powers?"
Poll: Has President Obama overused his executive order privilege? | MSNBC

Clearly democrats talk about Obama overusing his presidential powers.

But the fact is Obama has used less presidential orders than, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clinton, or GW Bush.

Executive Orders
I think your links prove my point.

Mother Jones article - fluff talk of a few Democrats say he needs congress and some saying he doesn't.

MSNBC - only 27% in their unscientific online poll saying Obama over stepped his bounds.

Etc...

Let's not be willfully naive here. Obama has faced negligible criticism from his base. Which is why he can repeat lies after he gets caught lying. Democrats generally speaking - don't care if Obama lies.

STOP right here.

BOTH parties wanted this.

Stop falling for the left-right BS. Wall Street & Corporate America wanted this for the longest time - THAT's who's pulling the strings.

I haven't watched this in a while. I hope others consider re-watching this:

Executive Orders
Many executive orders are 100% backed by law.

Obama went from campaigning as opposed to executive orders, as opposed to signing statements, as opposed to expanding executive power....all to the cheers and chants of fans -- all the way to expanding executive orders without backing by law and on a larger scale, to issuing signing statements while claiming that it wasn't a signing statement.

You should pat yourself on the back for being part of the flock that enables this 1984 hyperbole.

Democrats and Obama supposedly cared about reigning in executive power and blasted Bush for expanding it, have now expanded it dramatically more than Bush did. Obama has set a precedent for the next president to take vast license and if that next president is as Republican and is abusive as Obama, Democrats will instantly flip back to having a conscience on the issue again.

Oh, who are we kidding, Obama supporters have already shown that they don't have a conscience on issues - just that Obama is always right like the good sheep that they are.
Agreed. Libs are too dense to understand that this is not about Obama, but the powers of the presidency in general. Obama has set a standard for the expansion of presidential power (for which Obama derided Bush in 2008) which will be very difficult to reduce.

This expanded presidential power (i.e. reduction of Congressional power and individual liberties) cuts both ways. There will be a conservative president at some point in the future that will continue and expand upon the standards Obama has created, if left unchecked.

I, for one, like a balance of power and not a king. This is why we had the first American Revolution. Do we need another?

Good thing Obama was riding in it all alone. He's now stranded.

And republicans attack democrats for lying, when republicans lie 100x more.

Republicans say "supply side tax cuts increase government revenues" (but all respected economists say they don't.)
A Tax Cut Won't Increase Revenue - Forbes

Republicans say "global warming is a hoax", as a favor to corporate America (but 97% of all active climate scientists say man made global warming is happening.)
Climate Change: Vital Signs of the Planet: Consensus

Republicans say "Social Security is in trouble at this moment", so they can privatize SS and divert our retirement money to Wall Street (but SS has a $2.7 trillion dollar surplus.)
The Biggest Deal: Lobbying to Take Social Security Private
Social Security Trust Fund - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Republicans say "Large US corporations are forced to pay too much money in taxes" (but large corporations have a 12% average effective tax rate, and many of them literally have 0% tax rates.)
GAO: U.S. corporations pay average effective tax rate of 12.6% - Jul. 1, 2013
Large companies find ways to a zero tax rate

They say "The flat tax is a good idea for all Americans" (but the Flat tax lowers taxes for the rich, and raises taxes for the poor and middle class.)
Flat Tax Will Benefit Only the Rich - US News

Do republicans care about the above lies said by republican politicians? No, they literally ignore them. And then they actually turn around and say the democrats are lying.

And yes Obama said a few lies/falsehoods about Obamacare, but perhaps at the time he said them he believed they were true. Still I concede Obama has said a few lies to pass his agenda.

But if Obama said lies like the republican lies I listed above (outright lies in multiple areas to push an increased corporate profits agenda) you can bet your life I would hate him.

This is Obama hoping to keep his flock sleeping

Unfortunately, you've grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They'll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can't be trusted.
