Natalie, if this were a female student that seduced a male teacher it's still the same charge. It's assault because of the age. The teacher should know what the law is and the law is you can't have sex with a 16 year old.

This just came up locally with a female teacher and the kid was 18, I forget what it was but there was even charges for that. Something like institutional assault. They didn't have to pursue it becsue they found other students under 18...

So you're saying that NJ State law is wrong. How interesting. I'm just explaining what the law says.

You want me to tell you about 16 year old guys. There is nothing to laugh about. Sex is rampant with them. My god, some kids are even having sex in middle school

Even when I was in middle school, sex was common. Children are developing at an earlier age these days. Hormones will be hormones. Nothing wrong with that... except when an adult is involved and there is no consent. Then it's sexual assault.

The article doesn't mention anything about consent or no consent. It's all about the teacher and the alleged assault.

The basis of the alleged assault is that the teacher acted without consent (physical contact without consent). Maybe the student's parents provided permission and there was no assault. We'll have to see.

Parents don't need to give permission to their children to have sex. Parents give guidance but ultimately, we all make our own decisions

The legal system revolves around laws. Not your opinion. While you may disagree, there are laws saying that adults cannot have sex with children.

The person being charged is not a child. She's an adult. It's her decision that is being question.

What do the parents have to do with anything? Parents can give you legal authority to have sex with their child.
