Civilians may only use lethal force in defense of your life, or the life of someone else. Defense of property is not a valid excuse.
However, if a store owner "stands his ground" in his store when rioters break in, then lethal force could be legally allowed.
I agree with you, if you stand your ground to prevent looters from robbing you and they then threaten your life, you should be allowed to use lethal force.
Lock those freaking idiots up, they contribute nothing of value to society. It´s a cost/benefit analysis, how much does it cost to lock them up verus the cost to let them destroy.
most business owners will tell you that property isnt worth your life to defend, that is what insurance is for. thus most business owners wont allow their employees to arm themselves.

They have no place in society and I bet half of them probably don't even know Michael Brown's name... they are just using it as an excuse to rob without penalty.
I really don't understand, if it was any other time and somebody violently robs you, you have the right to use lethal force to protect yourself. Why aren't we seeing store owners fighting back like we saw in the LA riots?
I think because they were trusting the police to protect their property. That's what they are paid to do. However a riot is a difficult situation to contain, and to take it upon ones self to engage the rioters would only make things worse, and possibly risk your own life, as well as the lives of others.

Your so right. What is one owner suppose to do against a pack of wild untamed animals!

Are you kidding?
Lethal force is for situations in which your own life is in danger. If people are taking material items, let them have them.
I have MANY guns and would never dream of shooting someone over trinkets.
bek of lawyers if you shoot them they will sue you and win. true for shop owners.
on the less violent side
lots of renters out there too ripping off landlords bek if the owners process them they will get sued. evictions should be double what it is.
