One in every 5 US jobs held by a foreign worker.
Net gain in employment from 11/2007 has gone to legal and illegal immigrants.

And they aren't just poor Mexicans, either...

"The influx of foreign workers includes many foreign graduates. Their arrival is forcing many debt-burdened Americans graduates to start their careers in lower-wage jobs. Those American graduates will be stuck with lower wages for many years unless employers face a shortage of workers in the next few years...Roughly one million foreign, university-trained guest workers are already working in the United States in a wide variety of long-term jobs in universities, hospitals, finance firms, retail and technology firms."

Fewer US-Born Americans Have Jobs Now Than in 2007 | The Daily Caller

There are more numbers in the article and how the number of foreign workers are increasing under the Obama administration.

Do you think the national news media doesn't talk enough about about foreign workers displacing American college graduates, that is, the focus of the news stories are overwhelmingly about the uneducated/undereducated illegal border crossers (simply because they are more burdensome to society as a whole in their need for jobs/services/entitlements where as the college educated foreign workers only impact American college graduates as it relates to jobs)?

Americans have no birthright today. No one stands up for the American worker. We have congressmen and senators fighting for the rights of illegals.. who fights for Americans????.. it is not politically correct.

Obama said in California how Americans cling to their guns and religion . Making fun of all Americans today. Obama is a pathetic leader who should be a world leader because Americans have no leader.

I have some personal experience on the subject. I worked for a major aerospace company for 28 years. The company built plants in Mexico, China and the Czech Republic. The vast majority of all manufacturing is now done overseas. Foreign workers did not take those jobs, the company gave those jobs away. This was done before Obama took office.

You are blaming immigrants when the blame for what happens in this country is 100% the fault of the citizens. It is the citizens who were too lazy to keep tabs on their own public servants and allowed the wealthy and the government to purposely create this situation.

The wealthy have made shiploads of money by immigration because it has kept wages low, unemployment high, and profit margins surging. Corporations and stockholders have made trillions while the working class has "taken one for the team". Why would the media tell you the truth? They are owned by the corporations that are making huge profits from immigration.

The people of the US have become fat, lazy, and incredibly stupid and as a result they are getting their backsides handed to them, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

So our jobs have either been outsourced or given away to illegal aliens on our soil. What a country! Obama is mostly responsible for the latter with his stay of deportation for millions of illegal aliens along with work permits.

IMO the American work force needs better skills and a stronger work ethic. And all the major companies have gone global. A foreign worker could be more attractive for being bi-lingual and knowing their home market, whereas the American worker isn't fluent in another foreign language or knowledgeable about other cultures and countries.

I have worked on several university campuses, and the American students aren't as serious about their studies as the foreign students. American students are much more relaxed about the college experience and are more keen about parties and hook ups. Spring Break activities seem to be the highlight of every academic school year. And they certainly weren't fluent in other languages like German, French, Russian Chinese or Arabic. Employers want the whole package in their upper level employees and not have to hire translators for them.

It's up to American workers to get their act together to become more desirable and useful as an employee.

Around 6.3 million American 'guest workers' are working overseas.

Howsabout we kick out the one million legal immigrants and the other countries can kick out the 6.3 million legal Americans working overseas? That would work, right?

No, it is only greedy citizens who are a part of the problem here. Law abiding Americans are not. The notion that this is happening due to laziness on the part of the American worker is ridiculous. No, the ones to blame aren't them. It is the greedy corporations and our government. I really resent the picture you painted here of regular Americans because it is false!

Most jobs don't need bi-lingualism from an employee. It is just that they want to pander to illegal aliens and other unassimilating people. If I want to learn the culture of another country I can do so without learning their language and it should have nothing to do with job requirements for most jobs in this country. This is just another attempt under this topic to paint Americans in a bad light.

No, it should be up to the employers to put Americans first and stop demanding that we pander to foreigners in order to secure a job in this country. English is the language of business across the world.
