Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, grew at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.0% in the third quarter, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. That was up from the second quarter’s growth rate of 4.6% and the strongest pace since the third quarter of 2003.

When business saw democrats taking control of the congress, the businesses contracted with the fear of the policies that hurt business and bring uncertainty.

When business saw republicans taking control of congress, the businesses knew they had some security to expand and grow, without taking a loss for their efforts.

Jobs numbers and GDP both started shrinking in 2006, before Democrats ever took control of congress.

And like wise, Democrats have been in control of the senate since then, but your logic we should have still been in a recession and losig jobs every month.

That's what I'm saying. Things started turning around when the GOP took over Congress. Thanks GOP

Seems like the FedGov is doing better than individuals though.

This logic might work if it wasn't for the fact the GDP numbers are from Quarter 3...well before the election.

We will see what happens next year, if the repubs play defense, and act as if they are too afraid to see their own shadows, then growth may slow down again.

You didn't comprehend the word saw. They saw the future coming.
You asked for my theory and you got it.
The timeline of the tanking, coincides with the projection of the democrats taking congress. Then proceeded as they took the keys to the candy store.
The economy rebounded when it was seen the democrats would lose the house and really picked up when it was seen the democrats would lose the senate.
Watch it ramp up when it is seen democrats lose the Presidency.
