DeBlasio gave too much power to the "protesters" and they got out of hand.
Will be interesting to see how DeBlasio will reign this in and still stay progressive and loved by his followers.

Your correct, God Bless the NYPD as other's across this Country, who wear the badge with honor and sincerity.

Troublemakers are those who instigate a problem with big loud mouths, and a negative message. The good is never talked about, somehow the bad and negative always is.

Any Persons who crash a memorial Funeral, taking place for whatever their ignorant reason, are just plain SCUM of the earth. That should never happen, goes to show how ignorant and stupid, and underhanded some people are.
Thank you. I should add that if you think the police in this country are harsh, try moving to any other country.
See what would happen if a European nation's police force took responsibility over New York. They would handle some of what NYPD puts up with patiently, in harsher ways than you may have ever seen before. They would probably set curfews on city blocks, they would not let anybody out.

Quebec City and Toronto broke up protests using tear gas...with force that NYPD would actually more likely withstand

In London UK during the second subway bombing july 2005, british police made the mistake of shooting the wrong person

If you go to supposedly Liberal Amsterdam, you would find there is only less police brutality because nobody there would treat a police force with the rudeness we so used to treat ours. Same with Australia, same with New Zealand

We are actually spoiled. You wouldnt want another country's police force in New York City, after that day you will be begging the NYPD to return to duty.

Realllly?

And before you idiotically accuse me of siding with those left-wing cop-killers: No. I don't. I don't support any cop-killers.

Well in Ferguson they did just that and what was the result, most of the protestors are peaceful. This small group of protestors was way out of line and they should have abided by the mayors wishes but there are extreme factions in any group.

Because it is all de Blasio's fault that this senseless violence happened. How dare NYC elect a Democrat for mayor.

This lunatic probably would have done what he did, regardless of anything the mayor said.

It's good to question if an authority does something that could be done better. What is more concerning is the mayor removed power of discretion from the police to act (thrift and holds), to the extent they are at high risk of not being able to subdue their aggressors. Self-defense measures are necessary to be at police discretion, because there are times where they are warranted for the purpose of saving lives. What may not be appropriate force in some cases does not mean you should outlaw those manuevers entirely...they are warranted in other situations that nobody would detest.

And it seems to be a lose/lose proposition. Let them burn down the town so you're not seen as aggressive ?

The protestors are mostly middle-class white people who hate our country. I like the way CNN is showing their faces. I hope people in New York remember who they are. Where they live. Where they work...
