Well, since Obama said he will cut his budget by 1/2 of 1 % to save money, he wants to cut almost in half a benefits program for the families of slain police and safety officers.
His budget calls for cutting the Public Safety Officers' Death Benefits Program from $110 million to $60 million. This program gives money to slain officers families.

That's OK, at least they didn't cut the health care for the illegals or the tattoo removal for gang members. Whew!

Is there a link to prove this?

I see why you didn't provide a link to the story;

A Justice Department finance spokeswoman told FOX News that the proposed cut is a false statistic because the program requires "mandatory funding," which means the money is automatically paid to all the families of slain officers.

The proposed reduction to $60 million pertains to a projection for the Justice Department's planning purposes and last year's figure was high because it included a number of families that weren't in the system before, Justice spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz said.

"Any family member who is eligible for benefits under this program will receive them," she said. "If the amount of claims surpasses the amount requested, the program will be further funded."

Curious -- do you know why he would cut the budget for that program? Is there a duplicative program? Does this program have high overhead?

I have no problem at all with this, Public Safety Officers are paid by City/State budgets, NOT FEDERAL, and those budgets should over insurance for slain officers...

Your posting points out two flaws.
1) You bolded FOX, is there a reason for that? Are you saying that because its FOX, its not true?, If so, how would you bold something that wasnt said, and then adding quotes to it?
2) So the Obama administration is counting this as a cut, but its not really a cut because it will be funded later? Jees, I wonder what other cuts arent really cuts because they will be later funded.. Again..

No flaws.

The emphasis added to Fox was to point out that the complete story was indeed posted by the right's favorite media outlet. And second, if you read the portion without my emphasis, the story indicates that the program is over funded and that the cuts reflect actual cost. The latter promise to increase funding based upon unseen contingencies (more right wing nut jobs killing cops for fear of their guns being taken away for example) is simply logical.

Now keep smacking that head and maybe someday you'll be able to kick start your thinking processes.

So, do you think ONLY FOX has the story or did you go to Fox just to point out the fact that FOX is covering the news?
The Associated Press: Obama to cut slain officers program by nearly half

Actually, other stories point out that the ONLY reason the budget is decreasing is because police officers deaths are decreasing,

Budget documents say the reduction is being made because "claims are anticipated to decrease," apparently because the number of officers killed in the line of duty has been decreasing.

According to you, they could have budgeted $1M, and then came back later for the other $59M and it would have been even a bigger cut.. Um, I dont think so. To claim this under a "budget cut" and then give Obama credit, especially consdering the need to MAYBE come back in the future for more money is just foolish and should be rightfully pointed out.

Yeah, so many right wing nut jobs out there that they are cutting the budget, not doubling it, another flaw in your posting.. Give it a break, your hate is beginning to drip on the floor..

Lets add to the fact that Obama is pledging to add 50,000 more police officers,

Yeah, that wont result in an increase in fatalities..
