As long as we keep popping pills from big pharm, we will never get goo health care. We spend more than all the countries, but we are the sickest.
Wherever aMercian style medicine arrives, death and sickness increase. That is sad. Obamacare , bushcare, romneycare, will never make a positive influence

Here in the states pharma advertises on TV. Viagra, cancer meds etc..."Tell your doctor to prescribe this or that" Afterwards the commercial then lists 10 horrible side effects such as thoughts of suicide. The States do not negotiate price, we pay full retail. Then there are generics, some of which are as good as the name brand, many are not.

Medicare is 50 years old. One would think evil government insurance would have killed off most of the elderly, by now.

Did Cheney complain when it paid for his $ 1 million heart transplant?

The rest of the developed world tends to rely on MD comprised Compariative Effectiveness panels to compare/ contrast medications and develop/ maintain treatment protocols. Something similar was embedded within the original ACA legislation. Some Republicans deemed the concept a Death Panel.

So instead, private insurers continue to dictate the protocols.

There is something way off about commercials that tell you to ask your MD for their medication, by name.

I believe it is Maine that encourages its people to buy their meds from Canada. In some cases those meds are made in he US and exported to Canada. Importing the former export is more cost effective for some meds.

The U.S. has the fattest population on Earth. This population is substantially more prone to otherwise preventable disease, Diabetes, Heart Disease and some cancers.
