Is this a stance against extremism or a protest rooted in prejudice? Merkel, seems to believe the latter...

BERLIN (AP) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday warned the country's citizens not to participate in weekly anti-Islam rallies that have attracted growing numbers of supporters in the eastern German city of Dresden.
Merkel condemned the organizers of the protests and said they were driven by prejudices and hatred against foreigners.
The chancellor used unusually direct words in her New Year's speech on Wednesday for the rallies organized by a group calling itself Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West, or PEGIDA which have been attended by thousands.
When the protesters chant "we are the people," they actually mean to say "you don't belong — because of your religion or your skin color," Merkel said.
They surely are. The UK leads the pack in PC wussieism.
I had a coworker that came from the UK and went back every year at Christmas time.
He noticed the drastic changes that occurred because he only went back once a year.
Told me we should be thankful that our immigrants are coming here just for the money and our only worry seems to be the loss of the English language.
Why do you say that? America allowed quite a bit of immigration, and we are a stronger country because of it. Maybe some of the European countries can learn from us and do something similar.
Isn't it a bit overreaching to call people, who are opposed to out of control immigration from Muslim countries, "white supremacists"? I mean, you can disagree with them if you'd like and call them xenophobic or what not, but what I don't understand is... why is it OK for every race on earth to celebrate their own culture and move to protect it... except for white people?
I'm not opposed to a healthy amount of immigration, and change to some degree is inevitable of course, but I for one don't want to see European culture uprooted and replaced by a Muslim culture with a call to prayer blasted five times a day.
