Look like that uppity woman just isn't going to go away.
"Former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has sued the Justice Department over the hacking of her computers, officially accusing the Obama administration of illegal surveillance while she was reporting on administration scandals.
In a series of legal filings that seek $35 million in damages, Attkisson alleges that three separate computer forensic exams showed that hackers used sophisticated methods to surreptitiously monitor her work between 2011 and 2013....."
As outlined in the claims, three separate computer forensics exams revealed that intruders used sophisticated, remote capabilities to monitor Attkisson’s work. The intruders installed and periodically “refreshed” software used to exfiltrate data, obtain Attkisson’s passwords to various personal and work accounts, access the CBS News computer system, and monitor Attkisson’s audio using a Skype account. Forensics also revealed evidence of U.S. government-related involvement in the surveillance.
The filing of the administrative claim is a necessary procedural step under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) prior to a citizen filing formal lawsuit complaints. Once the time for investigation is completed, the Government will be required to either take a formal step to resolve the complaint or litigation can be initiated. The administrative claim process is not required for the lawsuit alleging constitutional violations.
Turns out that Sheryl discovered via a FOIA request that the Justice Department had opened an investigation on her case, but never informed or interviewed her. She has hired a Government Compliance Company to deal with the Miles of Government Red Tape and I'm sure a team of Lawyers.
She won't quit. She is a highly respected Investigative Journalist (a dying breed) with a long history of Award winning Journalism. CBS was able to keep her on a tether, but she got out of her contract - that was a major step for her to give up a 20 year career with CBS.
"There is not a liberal America and a conservative America — there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America — there's the United States of America."
And the Biggy in St Paul with his nomination speech.
I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.
There are hackers that attacked government offices including the White House, they are all sophisticated by the way whatever that means anymore. Why does she feel the "White House" is responsible, the CIA even hacked into the senate intelligence committee that is supposed to be overseeing them.
I saw her awards, and the Edward Murrow Award back in 2005 is prestigious but not sure of the others. Why would the White House hack into her computer, did she have something that hasn't been discussed at the many hearings. Big coincidence that her book release coincided with her claims of hacking but who knows.
