Was it a gift from the owner? Who paid? What political benefits are they getting from the gift?

These were all questions that were asked (screeched about) by people when Chris Christie was in the Dallas Cowboys owners box.

Chris Christie is from New Jersey, personally I'd be ticked if my governor was in the box of a rival team.

" I'd be ticked if my governor was in the box of a rival team"

New Jersey does NOT have team of it's own.

The Jets and Giants BOTH play in New Jersey.

Saw John Kerry in the owners box yesterday.....where's the outrage?
I think don't think you'll find much company being outraged about something like this.

John Kerry is from Boston. Boston is the nearest big city to the Patriots' homebase in Foxboro, MA.

And?

BUT, they are STILL the NEW YORK Jets and the NEW YORK Giants NOT the New Jersey Jets and New Jersey Giants are they?

I lived in Maryland and the WASHINGTON Redskins played in Maryland. They weren't reamed the MARYLAND Redskins.

MANY Marylanders root for the Baltimore Ravens. Should those Marylanders root for then Redskins since the Redskins were there first?

Weren't the jets looking into building a new stadium in the West side of NY?

Why should someone be "loyal" to a team that wants to move out of his state?

Just another 1%'er hanging outwith another 1%'er.

That's just what people do. Hang with their own.

ok so now politicians are not allowed to sit in owners boxes even though they are invited by the owners? perhaps we need to extend this further, say NO politician can attend ANY sporting event EVER. that means no presidents at the army/navy game, etc.

He's also extraordinarily rich, and business savvy enough to insist on compensating for the seats. Christie accepted them, and his jet, were paid for a guy who owns a company that he awarded a bridge contract to in 2013. Which means at best that Christy is *not* savvy enough to realize that this is a serious breach of ethics.

In fact, this is precisely why Bob McDonnell is going to jail as well as, I assume, some past New Jersey governors.
