Monopoly corporations are the enemies of Liberty. They would reduce the country into serfs and rulers. The British trade monopolies were doing this in the 1700's. That is why we had a revolution. Progressivism that prevents corporate collusion is the protector of Liberty by opening the markets to everyone.

I wonder why the Republicans try very hard to eliminate unskilled employment for ever greater profit and simultaneously tell the displaced to get jobs instead of welfare? How DO they expect the displaced to find jobs that do not exist? How?

You dont seem to have a problem when government runs a monopoly.

The main sticking point I have, besides the Moral Majority wing of your party, is that I'm a big outdoors kinda guy. I love hiking and camping and all that stuff. Even as blundering as government is...isn't it the only thing standing in the way of corporations strip mining the entire United States?

A friend of mine called me a 'bleeding heart libertarian'...but I don't see how limited government protects the weakest among us or protects the 'public lands' that I so enjoy camping on.

Is there a book that deals with this or can you answer that for me?

How do Republicans propose to take care of our National Parks and keep our Air and Water clean? This is a real question, I'm sincere in everything I've said here.

Thanks,

well

epa( clean Air and Water ) was created under Nixon....the problem is liberals keep putting rules ontop of rules......our air is cleaner than ever...yet liberals want to keep restricting the freedoms of americans

as to national parks...carter, bush1, and Clinton sold them

Through an international treaty, the United States is allowing the United Nations and its member countries access to and control of American soil - in particular, our historic buildings and treasured wilderness.

our government signed the United Nations' World Heritage Treaty, a treaty that creates "World Heritage Sites" and Biosphere Reserves." Selected for their cultural, historical or natural significance, national governments are obligated to protect these landmarks under U.N. mandate.1 Since 1977, 68 percent of all U.S. national parks, monuments and preserves have been designated as World Heritage Sites.2

Twenty important symbols of national pride, along with 51 million acres of our wilderness, are World Heritage Sites or Biosphere Reserves now falling under the control of the U.N. This includes the Statue of Liberty, Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello, the Washington Monument, the Brooklyn Bridge, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite, the Florida Everglades and the Grand Canyon - to name just a few.

Most ironic of all is the listing of Philadelphia's Independence Hall. The birthplace of our Republic is now an official World Heritage Site. The very place where our Founding Fathers signed both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution - the documents that set America apart from other nations and created the world's longest-standing democracy - is no longer fully under the control of our government and the American people.

liberals have constantly hurt our beautiful country

I do not have a problem with government monopolies providing universal services from natural monopolies at no profit. I do object to private owners doing so.

Texas? The federal government only owns 1.8% of the land in your state compared to Nevada where they own 81.1% of the land in that state. One might ask, why is Nevada even a state? Point being, you might not feel it the same as Nevada.

So, the 'liberals' aren't doing a good job of protecting our lands. Fine. But how is getting rid of the government going to do any better? That's the question posted in the OP that no one has yet to answer.

Yes, my name is 'SoLongTexas'...every wonder why I might be saying 'So Long' to 'Texas'?
And, anyways, this is a red herring and doesn't even address the question I asked.

Nobody (or anyone credible) is arguing that we should be "getting rid of the the government." A limited government does not equal a lack of government. It's not black and white, there is a continuum of government involvement, not simply the poles.

Right now the feds are simply warning people to not hike state and federal alnds because of mj growers and smugglers. How does that make you feel about the current administration? Proliferation of windmills killing eagles and other birds.

I do not hate the Right Wing Republicans. I despise them for their selfishness and their foolishness for letting the financial elite own them. I also fear them for they would turn this country into Kristian Religious Tyranny so they could save my soul. My soul is already saved (if it exists) and I do not want anyone to try and force me to believe their fantasies and worship, generally by sending money, their god.

I have read of their suggestions to reduce the deficit by Selling the National Parks and Monuments to Disney. I suggest reducing the deficits by getting out of the Middle East and reducing our military to the level needed to defend this country and not American investors in Arabia. Besides, without the US government borrowing trillions of dollars, where and who would the international banks loan the money to? Without USG borrowing the banks would probably go broke.

I will vote for the Democrats before I vote for the corporate socialists.
Blah, blah, blah. Typical liberal B.S. See my post above where I addressed this ridiculous meme about corporations "owning" Republicans and our government.

So, the corporations are now "socialists," are they? I thought they were "greedy capitalists?" Make up your mind.
