discrimination must only be at the hands of the government against religious people.
gay rights= government enforced bigotry
Religion doesn't give you the right to discriminate. Think of it this way, your religion may say it is okay to kill people who have sinned, but it doesn't mean you are allowed to do so in this country.
Stop using your religion to justify your hatred. If you hate gays, just say you hate gays instead of saying it is your religion that makes you hate gays because last time I check, religion is a choice not something you are born with.
Y'know, if you and the other holy rollers would put one tenth of the energy you're directing at keeping the gays in their place into battling adultery in your own ranks, I'd perhaps offer a little respect for your vaunted Christian principles.
trying to legitimize homosexuality is worse than homosexuality
trying to legitimize adultery is worse than adultery
trying to legitimize murder is worse than murder
understand someone sinning is not legitimizing the sin.
you may have a case if there were laws, forcing me to participate in adultery (renting them aroom), adultery pride parades etc.
Not at all. These people talk about living with same sex attractions and also wanting to follow God with the way He made them.
He made them GAY. Why should they change what god made, just to satisfy the problems you have with people being gay? People who talk to or have an invisible being talk to them, need help.
It's not too difficult for me to discern the fundamental difference between the political content of the message "Lisa Loves Jane" and the message "God Hates Homosexuals."
One is a message of hate, the other is not.
It is, however, difficult for me to imagine why anyone feels threatened by the message "Lisa Loves Jane."
hating evil is love of god and man
loving evil is hate of god and man
Get off that dead horse. They were christians, but it was not a christian bakery. No one is allowed to use their religion to discriminate. I think that a gay baker would bake a cake for a christian, a jew or what ever. It is the Christians that want to hate and discriminate, not the gays.
I think that a religious baker would bake a cake for a gay if that cake was not used for part of a "Wedding".
If baking wedding cakes offends their religion, then they should stop selling wedding cakes. But if they sell wedding cakes they can not discriminate on who purchases those wedding cakes that they offer for sale.
I'll sell a wedding cake to gay if that wedding cake will not be used for a so called "wedding"
A bakery is not a church, and baking cakes is not a religious belief. It is a business, and all businesses have to follow the same laws. Your religious beliefs do not trump generally applicable laws.
PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF
EXERCISE = means actions not beliefs
baking a cake for a same sex "wedding" violates my religion.
if you want to force me to violate my religion I will call you out on in.
you are no worse than the crusaders, or inquisitors.
selling a wedding cake for a same sex "Wedding" is much more offensive to me, than writing on the cake kill all jews (asking me to do the later, would probably land me in jail for assault)
Then don't offer wedding cakes for sale. Easy solution.
