I walk the streets of Washington DC every day with just a smile and a nod. That's all the protection I find is needed.
We don't allow people to just walk around with guns.

So, you were being deceiving. "I walk the streets of Washington DC" NO, you walk SOME of the streets of D.C. And ONLY the safe ones.
" It's really a safe city" No it is NOT. Yes there are some safe area but YOU claim the ENTIRE CITY which is lie and you know it.
"Why would I drop by Barry Farms? I live east of Rock Creek Park, however and frequent quadrants other than NW." Because you said the "city" was safe which means the ENTIRE City not, just one little area you frequent.

Well, let me ask you a question. Say you and the family are at your local Walmart and as you pull into the parking lot, you notice a guy out of the corner of your eye sticking a gun into his waistband and heading straight into the store.
What measures are you going to take to defend yourself and your family? Or are you just going to stand there and assume everything is hunky-dory?
Or let's say you are completely unarmed and you turn down the aisle and see a toddler holding a handgun that he has somehow gotten possession of. What's your game plan at that point?
What about a scenario where you go to the toy department and there's some guy holding a weapon that looks just like a real gun. You are still totally unarmed. Are you just going to hope everything is okay?

Are you part of the local DC government? By using the term "we", I assume so. Or by "we" do you mean the collective that is DC?
Either way, the local government DOES allow people to walk around with guns and other illegal items. How did David Gregory get a 30 round AR-15 magazine into city limits and on the air without prosecution? MILLER: David Gregory gets off scot free - Washington Times
"We don't allow people to just walk around with guns" BUT, they do. or do you deny it?
When I worked in D.C many moons ago, I carried at the risk of loosing my job if found out, as did many of mt co-workers.
I would rather alive and out of a job then dead.
Very few people in DC walk around armed. As you say, you risk arrest and imprisonment. As I've pointed out, acting with a little common sense will keep you out of danger in virtually any American city.

Nothing like trying to portray a false image.
You're obviously a very frighten person and inclined to lash out at people. You should seek professional help.

NBC is not out of jeopardy the last I heard. The police have not closed the inquiry. They were not walking around with a gun. They had an empty magazine. But they knowingly broke the law. IMO they should be prosecuted.
I vote in DC, that makes it a "we."
