Who do you think has it worse in American society, Black males or Transsexuals? There has been no other ethnic group that has experienced more racial hostility and oppression than Black males have in America. Black males have a long history of negative stereotypes and are more likely to die of from violent crime than any other racial group. Transsexuals are considered to among the most oppressed groups in the LGBT community. They are also stigmatized in society and often face high levels of discrimination. Which group do you think has it worse in American society?
I would say Blacks do. Being a trans-sexual is a choice. And you don't have to tell anyone you are a trans-sexual. Being Black, well all anyone has to do is take one look at you and know you are Black.
And there is a history of Blacks getting worse than anyone else. No one gets to choose to be Black. And things one can't choose are often the things used as a barometer for how one gets treated. Being a trans-sexual, that is personal, it is something one chooses, and it can be discreet. No one has to know you are a trans-sexual. However, people will know if you are Black or not. 50% of how a person is perceived is based on looks. If one looks a certain way, one will be treated accordingly. And Blacks have been looked down on throughout history.
Black males. Black males never lose it. Black males didn't choose this way.
No one gets to choose what race they are. In society, a major factor in social cleavages has been race. Race has been the major factor in how people get treated. One's sexuality could play a part, but race is much more visible to point out.
