I am a conservative and am all for keeping military expenditures under control and stop getting involved in useless wars while we leave our own borders wide open to every foreigner that can fly, swim or jump our nation's borders either to harm us or suck us dry. Not protecting our own borders from within is costing us billions in tax dollars annually. Any leftist want to respond to that one?

It's impossible to follow it to a "T" in today's day and age.
It details the power granted to the federal government and is perfectly suitable. When it becomes unsuitable, then it also outlines how to change it. If the nation has not amended it recently, then what has been in place for ages still applies.

Aside from the "promote the general welfare" part, ensuring that the poor are not utterly destitute is part of insuring "domestic tranquility". If you disagree with that assessment I suggest you google "Marie Antoinette". Any nation which ignores it's poor does so at it's own peril. Even the ROMANS understood that.

Ken, this is the biggest misconception or deception from the left. Liberals will tell you if don't believe government does something the best then you don't care. I think we all know the real truth about the efficiency and effectiveness of how the government does things. This is a good read for anyone who might really believe government is the only answer.
