By the time they get there, seniors have paid in a bunch. And when they are there they pay in a bunch more. Between payroll taxes, Medicare annuals and monthlies, copays and deductibles, seniors are in to it substantially. $3-4-5K equivalent a year. They take out roughly $10K. 2-3 X what they put in.

Not so many seniors can afford $10K a year. Many can't afford the $3K.

And as seniors disproportionately require more complicated and expensive HC services, without subsides we would see a serious decline in their health rather quickly.

But it's fair. If you're going to cut the ACA, Medicare should be cut too. Cut it all.

Since those seniors have no compassion or concern for those participating in the ACA, I have a hard time feeling bad for them. Maybe I would if I didn't see a bunch of them at Tea Party protests or even on this forum railing against Obamacare. Now, they can feel the cuts. Looks like Paul Ryan and the gang are going to do just that too.

Nah, it will never actually pass. The right is terrified of what their base would do, but if they talk big, they can blame the democrats for the deficits, claiming that if they had just worked with them they would have fixed it all.

Aren't you all getting it yet? He doesn't care if our seniors curl up and die and/or have to eat dog food to exist. He is that much of a cold hearted hater! It was the Democrats that published a picture of granny being pushed over a cliff in a wheel chair insinuating that it was the GOP who wanted that and yet here is a Democrat advocating for that!

Democrats were the ones fighting Paul Ryan last time. The Republican budget announced today is going full steam ahead with Medicare vouchers. This time I support it. And we should increase the Medicare copays and premiums as well.

Save the "seniors will curl up and die!" (TM) mantra. In the Republican budget thread you have a senior that has divorced his wife so they can both claim head of household, then when their house is paid for, they plan to put it in trust so they can both claim Medicaid and Social Security along with Medicare. Seniors are against the ACA but look at their thievery.

Paul Ryan can voucherize all of you.

So it is "hating" when it comes to cutting off the gravy train for seniors, but fiscal responsibility in letting children go without health care? Conservatives understand we can't have it all, but they want all of what we can have for themselves. Seriously, if we have limited ability to pay, then we should be spending it on young people and not seniors who have no economic value.
