The Feds would have stepped in to insure the right to vote was recognized.

There is no freedom to DENY others constitutionally protected freedoms. But giving someone else that legal recognition does not reduce your freedom at all.

Tell that to the federal government, that has declared the Constitution doesn't apply to them....

Patriot ACT
NDAA.......
1934 Firearms ACT
Civil Rights ACT
War on Drugs ACT

The list goes on and on.

"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." Frederick Douglass -

The South did not get less racist via the passage of the Voting Rights Act, but it had to respect the legal rights of those involved.

If SSM is recognized as a legal right via the highest court in the land, that will mean those rights must be recognized as well.

Like and recognize are NOT synonyms, and from a legal standpoint, like is immaterial. Just as this thread is immaterial.
Right. No one is forced to like anything. They are just forced to pretend to.

Seems like a sure sign that someone is seriously lacking for any other hobbies.

Don't be surprised when America enacts hate crime laws that punish you for hate speech like they do in the UK and France. This is what many on the left would love to see happen.

You prove the point of the thread.

Sad, but true. I believe good habits begin at home. Sure, often today both parents have jobs and work long hours. However, it isn't the school's responsibility to teach them good manners, good eating habits and to turn off the TV and study. So, although I am agreeing with you, I also think parents shouldn't rely on the school system to feed their kids a healthful meal. I realize the TV show "The Middle" is only a sitcom, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some parents feed their kids fast food for dinner much of the time. I don't remember buying lunch when I was in school, but that was a long, long time ago.
