WOW! SHE IS WHAT I CALL "HIGH MAINTENANCE!"

Mary Lincoln was taken to task for purchasing China for the White House during the Civil War.

And Mamie Eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary from her husband’s salary.

Total Personal Staff members for other first ladies paid by you the taxpayers:

Mamie Eisenhower: One-- paid for personally out of President's salary.
Jackie Kennedy: One
Rosaline Carter: One
Barbara Bush: One
Hilary Clinton: Three
Laura Bush: One
Michele Obama: Twenty-two

How things have changed! If you're one of the tens of millions of Americans facing certain destitution, earning less than subsistence wages stockingthe shelves at Wal-Mart or serving up McDonald cheeseburgers, prepare to scream and then come to realize that the benefit package for these servants of\\

Mrs. Obama are the same as members of the national security and defense departments and the bill for these assorted lackeys is paid by YOU, John Q. Public:

Michele Obama's personal staff:

Twenty.. $36,000 - Armbruster, Sally M. (Staff Assistant to the Social Secretary)
Twenty-One. . $35,000 - Bookey, Natalie (Staff Assistant)
Twenty-Two. . $35,000 - Jackson, Deilia A. (Deputy Associate Director of Correspondence for the First Lady)

Total $1,591,200 in annual salaries all for someone we did not vote for, and apparently have no control over.

There has NEVER been anyone in the White House at any time who has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the First Lady's social life.

One wonders why she needs so much help, at taxpayer expense.

Note: This does not include makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Miles, 49, and "First Hairstylist" Johnny Wright, 31, both of whom traveled aboard Air Force One to Europe ...

The Canadian Free Press had to publish this. I wonder why the US media has not brought this to light??? Too scared that they might be considered racist or suffer at the hands of Obama???

MICHELLE OBAMA’S paid staff vs Laura Bush’s paid staff – UPDATE – PNN

This link says Michelle had a staff of 16 in 2009, and that Laura had a staff of 10.

And this link gives a nice breakdown of it. Just because you read an old 2009 link from a Canadian news source doesn't mean it wasn't reported and discussed in the US back in 2009.

The size of the First Lady's staff has been debated for decades. Seems 22-24 has been the norm for decades.

Reports vary depending on the angle of the story, job title, physical location and so on.

There were reports about Nancy Reagan that included the entire domestic staff of the White House and the permanent staff at their ranch where Reagan conducted business most of the time.

Numbers also vary by the number physically located in the East Wing versus elsewhere in and outside the White House.

Tina Tchen , a former partner at a law firm, serves as Assistant to POTUS, Chief of Staff to the First Lady and Executive Director of White House Council on Women and Girls ( whatever that is). Easy enough to count this White House staffer 3x.

In the Reagan Administration that was a Cabinet-level position.

You are right, you don't need a staff, so why would the president's family need a staff? They should do everything themselves and fly coach on commercial planes like everyone else.

Not clear who or how she was compensated.

While Governor, Reagan signed legislation that made a distinction between astrologists and fortune tellers.

No, they should be treated like royalty. They should should have every whim catered and even be above the law.

Maybe those twenty two staffers are more of a product of the DOE - now taking nearly two dozen staffers to accomplish what could be similarly handled by a single staffer only decades ago...
