Good points there. Lots of less cheek to jowl places here in Arizona like especially many of the Indian Rez's.
Native American reservations have alot of problems too. Suicide, alcoholism. Murder goes on there as well. Gangland did an episode about Native American gangs on reservations.
My life has been seriously threatened three times. In all cases it was young, black men. Does that impact my characterization of young, black men? You bet it does and I don't apologize for it. I don't get out of the vehicle, I cross the street, I don't go there after dark, I put my hand on the butt of the snubby in my right, front pocket. They created this situation, not me.
Your post raises questions that you can't answer.
So you got a snub...and ALL OF A SUDDEN the young black males stopped threatening you although they DON'T KNOW that you have a concealed gun?

Fear of Blacks is nothing new. It's been around since slavery. I think for that reason, there is a sense of distrust. How does one know that this is not just some throwback to the old days? It's hard to tell. While some things have changed, some things have stayed the same.

It has NOTHING to do with slavery.
It's based on the current behaviour of young black males (and big bulky females).
It's based on the never ending stories like what that little girl experienced, then the family being victimized again by an ignorant judge with a chip on his shoulder.
Some of the best individuals I know are blacks OVER age 50. Problem is, those (not all) under the age of 25.
Blacks need to own up to THEIR responsibility as to how they are perceived by every one else.

Like I said, fear of Blacks is nothing new. I am talking bout TRUST. And whenever there are people who constantly complain about Blacks as a whole, one response if "fine, be like that". Constant complaining isn't going to change anything.
Part of this thread is also suppose to talk about how Black men see themselves. I decided to go a Google search. There is alot of writing about Black American men and low self-esteem.

Seems like things are going full circle. It was not that long ago whites were terrorizing blacks and getting away with it. Many didn't even smell a courtroom. Some of these young peoples today have parents and grandparents who went through hell in their time. Never ending stories, families being victimized indeed...
