Senate Democrats block fast track on TPP.
Probably just a ploy to appease their constituents temporarily.
Senate Democrats likely doing this as a bargaining chip with
the Republicans. Obama and the Republicans want fast-track
with no ability for Congress to amend the pact, which involves
over 40% of the world's economy.

The failure to garner the necessary votes came after pro-trade Democrats, including Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon, insisted that fast track be bundled together with three other trade bills, including one that would impose import duties on countries that manipulate their currencies for unfair trade advantage.

So Ron is wanting to impose duties on the U.S.?

Wyden-D even backed out claiming that the GOP wasn't bringing all 4 bills up.....but really think he read his facebook and noticed how his supporters weren't letting it go, and that the primary challenge talk was getting extremely serious. Which s a clear indication that he doesn't understand what his job is, and who he represents

While a good thing, it will not stop the Republicans along with the President and many other Democrats from pushing this down our throats, by the time we all know what is all in the Bill it will be signed and too late to stop. Yeup, sliding down that hill to mediocrity as a Nation faster and faster.

Don't get excited, or think this is genuine.
Harry Reid just wants a bargaining chip.

I'm glad it's been beaten but unfortunately I don't think the powerful interests behind this agreement will let it just die. They won't stop until American workers are completely screwed over.

Rand Paul voted for Fast Track. Shame on you Senator Paul, shame on you.

It's NOT beaten. It's just not "fast-tracked".

I've called my rep and told her. Even Jesse Jackson is saying Obama is wrong.
