this hearing is just a civil hearing but it looks like it could turn into criminal contempt of court charges. among the many revelations was that joe admitted to hiring private investigators to investigate the judge overseeing the hearing and his wife.
I just read that.
If Arpaio was in remote jeopardy of going to jail before, it isn't nearly as remote now, possibly. Sheriff Joe, from the report I read tried to blame all his criminal activity on his underlings once more, but I doubt an officer of the court would do something as egregious as to get someone to shadow the judge's wife without orders from his client to do.
But Maricopa county is a special kind of crazy, so who knows? One way or the other, today's revelations could be career enders for either or both the lawyer and his client.

the lawyer that joe claims is the one who hired the PI(s) is not the one defending him in this hearing. the main lawyer defending joe tried to quit yesterday! ( the judge is making him stay on in a "partial" capacity )
Wow...."yes judge I had a PI follow you and your wife before this contempt of court hearing"
Probably not the best thing to ever say to a judge.
On the other hand...this guys getting old enough that his claims about delegating things, and not following up etc etc...might work. But if they do, they also indicate he needs to resign as he is not capable of running the office.
If the Washington Post or NYT covers a local crime story outside their metro areas, it's almost always done to reinforce the narrative. In this case, that immigration restriction is evil and only advocated by the hateful and corrupt.

Honest, non-corrupt people do advocate for immigration restriction.
And then there is Arpaio.
Who, BTW, is probably of more interest for his birther campaign.
.... is probably of more interest for his birther campaign.
part of joe's investigation on judge snow includes him and his "lead" birther investigator, mike zullo, hiring an investigator out of seattle...... who turned out to be a con-artist ( and a successful one. he took arpaio and zullo for $40,000+ at maricopa county tax payer expense ).
judge snow has ordered joe to maintain all the records concerning joe's investigation into the judge so i'm hoping they are made public.

Really? I never see people like that on the TV news .
