Those of you that champion the Christian bakers should be in full support here.

I thought freedom to exercise your religion was a constitutionally protected right? Or is it only one religion you have the right to freely exercise?

Yes, I will support her 100% if she is not Chief of police.

Hey look, as a retailer, I have set of rules to follow. If I don't like what I do or the rules, I can find another way to make $$$$$. No ONE can have the cake and eat it too, no one.

Christian bakers have to suffer from the consequences of their actions too. Their businesses are in jeopardy.

sounds fair to me.

Don't be a public servant if you refuse to respect the republic!
I wasn't disrespected.

I actually agree with you here. It doesn't really change the pledge, I personally can deal with it either way. Not sure how people look at the flag as a religious symbol anyway, if their job is people protection.

Which is why she is free to not say it, but others are if they wish.

I was just wondering! How many threads and post claim we share the same god and now that God is an issue to a state official who happens to be Muslim......or is it the flag??

If a she cannot swear to honor and serve the American people, which is what placing her hand over her heart while facing the flag represents, then do not be a public servant.

I don't know why she did not hold her hand over her heart, since she has not stated why. I suppose it's possible she thought standing at attention was proper, so I'll hold out to that possibility unless I here otherwise.
