The House passed a bill Thursday night that reverses a D.C. law preventing employers from being able to retaliate against women who have had premarital sex, used contraception or sought abortion services.
The Rep. who sponsored the House bill, Diane Black (R-Tenn), claims the law should be struck down because it "directly targets the First Amendment freedoms of pro-life and faith-based employers in our nation’s capital." She vowed to "continue fighting tooth and nail to stop this shameful attack on religious freedom.”
"This bill would make it open season for bosses to dig into their employees’ reproductive health practices and fire women for taking birth control or having an abortion. This is just the latest in a slew of bills to give employers and businesses the right to discriminate against LGBT people, women, and others," said Cecile Richards from Planned Parenthood."

The bill passed 228-192, largely along party lines. The bill's Senate co-sponsor is Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Republicans won't be happy until they return women to their "proper" place, which they seem to believe is barefoot and pregnant and without any power to control their own lives. I wonder if employers will also be granted authority to dig into their male employees health records and fire any man who uses a condom or gets a vasectomy? Yeah, right.
But no, there's no war on women.
