What? He was showing signs of Alzheimer's in his first term according to his family.

He was also a trained (and I emphasize that word, trained, as opposed to educated) actor. Of course he was a good speaker!

Again, of the 1000+ plus radio addresses he gave during his campaign against Carter they have the drafts for 600+ of them written by him. Of the remaining 300+ analyses concluded about half of them were written by him.

A piece of paper on the wall is not the only measure of ones ability, Reagans estimated IQ while not outstanding was well above average. In the end one's accomplishments are ultimately the best way to judge ability and Reagan's accomplishments while in office were unquestionably substantial.

He was able to get Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall..........he can't even get the Saudi King or King Abdullah of Jordan to speak to him these days..........this is disgusting!

You see, unlike Obama, who thinks other world leaders like him because they dig Obama, Abdullah understood that friendships between leaders are based on what they can do for each other’s countries. And for Abdullah, where Obama was concerned, that wasn’t much.

Said Engel:

The king could not stand President Obama because the president was supportive of the Arab spring, because the president did not support Hosni Mubarak in Egypt – in fact turned his back on Hosni Mubarak in Egypt.

Obama has made an utter mess of the Middle East. He focused on withdrawing the United States from the region, supporting “protestors” – no matter who the protestors actually were – and focused on helping John Kerry get a Nobel Peace Prize by making peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Meanwhile, the whole place fell to pieces.

And that had much more of an effect on Abdullah than the aura of Obama.

King Abdullah “Could not Stand President Obama”

And we should care what a King, something Cons supposedly hate, has to say? So would you prefer he hold hands and trade spit with each other as Bush did?

Reagan Pro......
1. The Great Communicator (really knew how to speak)
2. More pragmatic and 'across the isle' than people think (see relations with Gorbachev, Tip O'Neil)
3. Wide appeal across party lines (see '80 Election)

Reagan Con.....
1. Tax, other cuts over the top = no Govt revenue = increased deficit!
2. Blind eye to crack, AIDS epidemics, homelessness (whole lot of 'bums' laying out in the Mall, back then?)
3. Let his peeps run amok! (See Iran Contra)

President Reagan was the first Cold War president to preside over eight years of unbroken peace, the first to reach an arms reduction accord with the Soviets.

You cannot deny that he knew how to conduct a national campaign. He knew how to give limited government, strong national defense, and a check on inflation mass appeal.

And spent money like a drunken sailor on projects that mostly ended in the junk heap and gave Amnesty to illegals in the US and probably broke the law with the Iran/Countra BS .

What? I have to run for president in order to have an opinion on presidents?

Who died and made you king? I'm pretty sure it's against the terms of use here to order others to stop posting.
