yes courts do overturn election ballots....when the court decides they are not within the bounds of the constitution..... likes calis prop 8..... voters said one thing..courts said not so fast


but this is the case of a territory have the chance to vote yea/nay for statehood.... they did vote 94% of the voters said yes to statehood

The only problem with your post is the lack of capitalization of the people who deserve a proper noun. The natives of Hawaii deserve the title of Americans.

but Crimea was part of Russia, before it was even the Soviet Union, and Crimea is still a majority Russian..and THEY VOTED for their independence from the nazi-sympathetic Ukraine

I didn't mean that, I was highlighting that the "native" people of Hawaii and Alaska are Americans. It was a rhetorical comment.
