The media and pop culture have caused people to think that Christian = Westboro Baptist Church, instead of the truth which is that Christian = First Baptist Church, Anytown USA.
The political left and the media are fascinated with homosexuals. On a daily basis, liberals in media and even here on C-D are constantly reporting and posting on something involving the LGBT movement.
Gay President? Sure. I would also rather have an Atheist President over an Evangelical one who thinks we should legislate this country into a Christian Theocracy.
Oh please, that's ridiculous. An evangelical President couldn't legislate this country into a theocracy any more than a gay President could legislate this country into a present-day Sodom and Gomorrah.

I need to point out, though, Evangelicals aren't the only Christians out there....some Christians love and accept gays and lesbians. The Episcopal Church comes to mind.
Most of us Christians love and accept homosexual people while simultaneously rejecting the sin of homosexuality. This is what God does, and we are called to be Christlike.
"Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor." Romans 12:9-10 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage...12&version=ESV
The more radical the Christian the more it pushes people to the other side. We've all seen and heard enough crap from them with all their lying and cherry picking bible verses.....
