I was 21 when Obama first run for office - the perfect demographic to be sucked into the rhetoric, all glass-eyed and spellbound. Thankfully in 2007, I became much more conservative, and while I was not pleased with McCain, was also deeply suspicious of Obama. Still, when he was elected, I personally hoped for the best for his presidency and the well-being of the country. I never fell into the trap, but many of my peers did.

If you were a strong Obama supporter back then, how do you feel now? Did he go too far to the left? Not far enough? Was he just an incompetent politician or something worsE?

I am disappointed because he didn't have enough of a backbone and was too conservative.

He should have stood up to the Republicans more instead of basically becoming one.

Hopefully in 2016 America elects an actual Liberal.

So, Emigrations…
I take it that you were McCain's lackey?
I understand you are young [MOD CUT/personal attack] but a voter is no lackey. That was a needlessly derogatory word you threw in the topic header.

Am I disappointed in Obama? Yes, but not much. He accomplished most of the big stuff he set out to do and most of the things he said he would.

Shaking my head at the ignorance of the left. obama is the worst thing that has ever happened to America, and there are still many who are too ignorant to see it..
The only possible explanation would be, either their extreme ignorance, or they agree with his destruction of America and welcome it...

I'm not a lackey.

I voted for Obama with my eyes open. His presidency has been pretty close to what I expected.

Knowing everything that I know now, I'd still make that exact same vote. McCain and Romney were not viable options. I'm absolutely satisfied with my choice.

Labeling people as "Obama lackeys" and asking them how they feel about their choice is akin to asking "when did you stop beating your wife?"

I'm not saying that Obama supporters got what they deserved, but I am saying, I told you so. By the time people start looking to government as a solution, that's when it's time to start considering a move. Or at least, how you're going to float through the stagnant mess. There are winners and losers in any economy, so it's not all doom and gloom. You just have to be logical.

This is what an empire in decline looks like. People become dependent and weak. They look to an external fix for all their woes. You can profit off this in many ways. For example, selling goal to idiots at inflated prices. Somebody did it, and became rich in the process. Many losers were created in the wake.

We're still in never ending wars in the Middle East which make us less safe. The economy is still bad 7 years after the crash. So why should anyone be disappointed?
Incompetent and you can't trust him.

Did Obama do especially well in the blind community?

Voted for him twice, would not change a thing. Obama has done as well as could be expected given the unmitigated disaster he inherited, and the nation-damaging opposition he has faced from Republicans in Congress. I am satisfied with his record for the most part.

Barring a 180 ideological switch, I would NEVER EVER vote Republican.
