I'm sure this bunch in Alabama is the only one that has figured out this little scam.

There was a girl Jessica chambers killed in rural Mississippi a few months ago, and it was an interesting story to follow. One of the things that came out was even in the rural south, all the gas stations owned by middle eastern characters - and then after a year or two, they'd spin ownership a couple different ways to some other shady middle eastern character.

Absolutely no way this is not some highly coordinated effort to funnel money back to these terrorist countries.

There was 242 arrest warrants issued and 17 they were specifically looking to arrest. Is it safe to assume the other 225 were EBT users? Assuming a conservative $100 per person that's more than 1/4 of million per year.

That is just those that got caught in one small city with a population of 200K. Let's suppose the same amount were true for entire Us population, now you're up to 375 million... again, just those that got caught.

Am I missing something? Some EBT card holders are desperate for cash so they sell their EBT card for 50 cents on the dollar. If the card has $100 on it they will sell it for $50... and the buyer uses it to buy EBT approved stuff at Walmart.
What happens the next month? The 'welfare' recipient no longer has the card or the monthly income. Does the gov't recharge the card each month? The recipient reports it lost or stolen?

You do know there is a map of where the stores are, and that its spread out over a significant part of the state, not just one city....right?

And I have no idea if it is safe to assume who the EBT users are. I know you want to assume that, cause it fits your narrative, but really you have no idea.

That's a pretty complicated and inefficient method to fund terrorism.
A store buys a $100 EBT card for $50, buys $100 of EBT approved stuff at Walmart, sells it in their store, and then sends some of their monthly profits back to the middle east. All this for maybe an extra 25% markup on selected products.

You may want to take another look at that map as these 11 stores were all centered around Birmingham.

The story is more about the c-store owners' involvement with fraud and sending the profits to Yemen.

Well I will be darned. In my defense, if you look at the map in the article it looks like some are in other cities. Now I need to look closer.

So...of the 902,000 on SNAP in Alabama....how many live in Birmingham? State population is 4.8 million. Basically lets round it, and say 1 out of 5 get food stamps. So...40K?

So 252 out of 40,000

Forgive me if I think tarnishing 40,000 because of 252 of them is a broad brush.

The c-store from the investigation was owned by 19 yr. Yemeni/Muslim Ali Alsanai and appeared to be the center of drug deals in the area.

I might be reading it incorrectly, but the story seems to be more about the fraud on the part of the owners.
