Why did he wear a mask, was his face burned by acid or something like that?

Very good episode last night. I also read the book. Bass Reeves arrested around 3,000 wanted criminals in Indian Territory by himself in his career. A very brave man overlooked by history.

Too bad he isn't around today. He could walk into Ferguson or Baltimore and clean house.

Not surprising.

It is rather interesting that folks who are normally very concerned about race when the skin color is seen in a negative light, would voice a lack of concern when the person's skin color is shown in a positive light.

What is there to be "concerned" about? The man had a job and was good at it. Does that make you deeply concerned?

Yes, there was a story about him and his firearms in the American Rifleman magazine. He was a former slave.

Bass Reeves was a US Marshal out of Fort Smith Arkansas and , was indeed, a legend. Not so much then Lone Ranger , more of a Rooster Cogburn. His shooting skills, especially when it was for real, are , again, legendary. Anyway, like I said, the Lone Ranger is not quite an accurate comparison. Not so sure where that's coming from.
