In Texas, if wage and tips are less than $7.25/ hr, the employer is required to make up the difference

What the valet parkers at this event made is hearsay, attributed to an anonymous source.

Valet parking is typically outsourced to private companies who carry required liability and workers comp insurance. What the company pays valet parkers is between the company and the worker.

I an not a Hillary fan.

If Hillary wanted the workers paid $15 an hour, she could have put that in the contract when the company was hired. That should be a standard item for every time they use contracted workers. The companies could then charge Team Hillary accordingly.
Her $15 minimum wage speeches are just lip service. Just like her saying women should be paid equally and then her female staff members being paid less. Do as I say, not as I do.

Yup Hildabeast and her people screwed up. If I were her I'd have my people make sure everyone working at any of my events were paid a tad over the minimum wage I was pushing.

A political prevailing wage so to speak.

In politics it's all about the optics especially with the stupid majority of American Voters.

Isn't it interesting that all of a sudden the liberals have no problem paying someone less than minimum wage as long as they get paid tips. Funny how that doesn't come up in other threads about wait staff being paid less than minimum wage, but of course those aren't at democrat fund raisers.

It's also telling that liberals obviously have no problem paying less than $15 / hour until forced to by law. Leading by example is clearly a totally foreign concept to them.

Yeah, it's kind of like Obama talking about climate change and then using an armada of aircraft to fly nearly halfway around the world to sit on that specific beach in Hawaii he likes each year.

Unilaterally raising salaries is nothing like minimum wage, the minimum wage increase is effective because it impacts the whole economy. This is just another dumb third-grader GOP talking point, like "if you think taxes should go up you should give the government extra money and shut up about other people's tax rates". Because the value of democratic action versus individual action is completely lost on conservatives.

A ten dollar tip to a valet is a lot of money.

Most of you on here either can't afford valet parking anyway and aren't familiar with the custom, or you live in Timbuktu where there isn't valet parking within a continent of where you live, so you don't know what you're talking about.

Non story.

Given that it was a liberal Democrat event they didn't do very well on tips. Democrats only give away other people's money.

You're not understanding this, she didn't tip the valet $10.

Her organization hired valet services to work at fundraising events and those valets were paid $10 an hour.
