I love dogs. But If I ever saw a large dog run towards my children in a determined manner (you know what I mean) without very obviously being playful (e.g. a toy in it's mouth and wagging tail), I'd shoot it without hesitation if it got too close. An aggressive large dog can cause lots of tissue / nerve damage and blood loss in a very short amount of time.

It's the owner's responsibility to make sure the dog is on the leash. That woman is an idiot.

There is a very, very deep circle of Hell reserved for those boneheads.

true. there are too many anti-social people out there that are obsessed with dogs and hate their fellow human beings, who wouldn't think twice about doing something similar. the brainless dog-worshipping zombies walk among us.

this is obvious, but the dog-worshipers will always find a way to find fault with the human being in every case that a dog does something aggressive

if the dog chased, attacked and bit him and then she beat the victim with a baseball bat.
the wrong person was swinging the bat.

We dont know the dog attacked him in that way at all. And if somebody messed with my dog, Id make sure they weren't walking too. Literally. So Im somewhat sympathetic.

My last dog, and she will be my last, was a deaf and partially blind Aussie . A product of irresponsible breeding . That was the only dog I'd ever trust with small children . She gave love unconditionally. Her name was Joy.

The problem? You can't fit a frying pan in the microwave.
