It's not the "crazy" people you have to worry about. Rest assured, though, in a nation of 320 million, we have literally millions of people that likely could check the "crazy" box.

It's the medicated-by-Big-Pharma people that you have to worry about.

But you'll never hear ANY politician pitch the idea that we should be looking to see what kind of medications the shooters were on.......because BigPharma is BigContributor.

As with anything, follow the money. ALWAYS follow the money.

I would pose this question. I live in this community and used to live two blocks from this church. No more than 4 blocks from there is a high crime, nearly all black neighborhood. The shooter said he was shooting because black people rape white women. What made him more likely to choose a church of law abiding citizens than the crime-ridden neighborhood, more likely consisting of his target audience, just 4 blocks away? Could it be that he knew his chances of survival were much less? I don't know, but it's a good question in the face of the normal reaction.

Always carry a gun with you for protection. Someone carrying may have stopped this before all those people died.

He wanted to make a statement, and killing church going blacks would make s bigger statement vs killing low income blacks in a high crime area...

We need the FBI to have access to medical records.
This shooter was on opiate withdrawal drugs similar to other mass shooter psychosis drugs.
So we really need to have mental health reform.
We need to vehemently enforce laws when gun violence occurs.
Mandatory long, long sentences for criminals convicted of violent gun crimes.

This is a start.

I'll take a stab at that.

Encourage more people who are willing to accept the responsibility of gun ownership to get cc permits. Treat mental health as a serious issue and stop sweeping it under the rug. Giving someone a gun who is dropping out of school, doing drugs and being arrested should have some consequences maybe. Maybe skydiving lessons would be more up his ally. The first time he leaves the plane without a parachute at 10,000 feet should be the closest he gets to shooting anything.

Agree on addressing the mental health issues, some states have around 10 people on the restricted list.

I don't know that we are addressing mental health issues any better or worse than other civilized countries yet these events happen very frequently.

Pshaw. No they're not.

How many gun deaths per year in the US? Something like 32k?

How many crazy-guy-shoot-try-to-shoot-everyone-in-the-building deaths per year? 10? 20? And most of them are going to be ticked off ex-employee shootings and the like.

I'd save my worries for things that happen more often.
