Bill Maher essentially claimed that Fox News inspires people like the domestic terrorist Dylann Roof that shot several people recently in South Carolina. Of course, he has no specific or direct evidence to back this up other than hyperbole.
Maher then compares FoxNews to Anwar al-Awlaki who the US droned because he inspired people to commit terrorists acts, but didn't do terrorist acts himself.
----
Maher has been very vocal against religion and in specific against Islam. Some on the left and right have accused Maher of bigoted views on religion in general or Islam.
Could one not just the same accuse Maher of inspiring bigotry and hate against Muslims? The next anti-Muslim action could someone not suggest that Maher helped inspire it and then make references to the US government drone policy?
Does Maher really want to go down the path of demonizing without specific those with political differences like FoxNews?
I don't criticize Islam the same way Maher does and I'm not a liberal. The most entertaining part about him isn't exactly him, but mainly reactions from other liberal people/sites who tend to take his words out of context and get really upset at what he has to say.
To be fair though, he's mainly talking about the religion itself in his discussions, not its followers.
Just an attempt to silence those who don't share his opinion.
I don't know. I watch his show, and when it comes to free speech, he usually defends everybody. I remember seeing this the other night, and thinking how out of character it is for him to say that. I probably agree with his politics only about 30% of the time, but free speech is something about which I have always seen eye to eye with him. I don't know what happened here. On several occasions, one not long ago, he was defending Rush Limbaugh's right to free speech.

He is a media personality and we know they never do anything to get ratings.
Step away from the TV, or watch reruns of the Twilight Zone if you have too.
Maher is a perfect example of a deluded ass who thinks he is very smart. He has to be one of the dumbest people and his fellow morons keep him on TV. Go figure.

Yep.....just an entertainer.
