Countries with single payer force citizens to pay via taxes. Half the US population doesn't pay taxes. They want that to continue.
If a single payer insurance system can be devised where there will be a only minescule effects on the day to day operations of the health industry Im all for it. I will not be holding my breath though.
How exactly did greatly increasing both health insurance premiums AND doubling or tripling deductibles help anyone get "affordable health care"?

Notice the Insurance companies going biserk trying to merge- They see the opening to monopolize and further rape (please take this term in context) the insured.
I consider my views Libertarian (the hippy kind of libertarian)- there is nothing libertarian about giant corporations controlling the market.
Mergers and monopolies are a natural course of "free market" over time. Weaker competition, if not protected, is often suffocated and this is truer in healthcare where size matters.
Obamacare without a government option simply holds America hostage to the greedy healthcare companies... like the middle class is not hurting enough. The mandatory healthcare policy is like forcing everyone to buy a new car every year to support the auto industry. I pay $1,100 a month for my wife and myself - that's a car payment on a really nice car, but I feel better knowing that perhaps the CEO of United Healthcre can give himself another 1 billion dollar bonus.
Every other major Western civilization has free healthcare for it's citizens. Why couldn't Obama at least provide a buy-in to Medicare?

Free? Uh are you aware of the inventive taxes that are created to pay for this "free" healthcare?
They do have an option. You can still buy real health insurance that offers the coverage you as an individual need, for a reasonable cost. It just isn't Obama approved. Then refuse to pay the Obama penalty at tax time, after you adjust your withholding to ensure that you have no refund for the socialists to seize.
Or do what I did, accrue tax credits to offset paying the fine. I paid nothing and owe nothing.
It looks like some folks have forgotten that the GOP took the Public Option off the table. The Dems wanted it from day one. Further, since it is so bad why won't the GOP develop a better plan. They have both houses what's the problem?

THIS "Liberal" favors a Single Payer type system for medical care, everyone pays into it based on income AND family size, the more children you have the more you pay, none of this you have seven children so you are now "poor".

People like you should be required to pay IN FULL in CASH any expected charges if you seek Emergency Medical care, not enough cash ?? Guess your family makes your final arraignments.
