I'm religious and conservative - and generally speaking, I don't care - until it effects the livelihood of a baker, a wedding photographer, a florist, a pastor - sincere, upstanding fellow citizens just trying to honor their God - who is a BIT larger than those of you - you who are overtly trying to 'convert' the 'unbelievers' unto your way, or the highway of (legally) financial destruction under the guise of discrimination. Wonderful!! And then you ask -- what's the problem?
IMO, the loudly outspoken minority of gays want not only tolerance, and not only acceptance, but participatory celebration. And that's just a bit much to ask, don't you think?
Otherwise, have your way, go your way, and be happy!! Why let it get to you so much?
Cake thing was overblowed . Clerks don't support gay marriage and refused to service gays , should just quit now.
We don't OP. You are just listening to too much liberal media who has brainwashed you to think we do.
While it may make you uncomfortable, the fact is that not a single prominent republican came out with a positive, or even mildly positive comment about the landmark decision. Not a single leading conservative voice has responded positively to the news.
Can you blame those of us outside the echo chamber for just assuming the brunt of conservatives are heavily invested in prohibiting gay marriage? Just look at Texas' latest response.

Ah, interesting... ok then. One could have gotten a different impression given how many forum conservatives seem ready to blow a gasket and how we now have folks like Huckabee calling for "civil disobedience" against gay rights.
I remember when I chose to be straight. I was ten and watching "One Million Years B.C."
I was 15 years old and saw the first episode of "Charlie's Angels" on Sept. 22, 1976. That did it for me! Not just one but three young women on the TV at the same time! Many times wearing bikinis, too.

That is not choosing to be straight, that is realizing you are straight, big difference. Choosing to be straight would mean you had both an attraction to females and males. Now, did you find both males and females sexually attractive and made the choice?
And when did all those people who are responsible for those horrible atrocities ask for forgiveness for what they did? You know, when the wrongs were righted?
People sin; a country can't.

Oh, and if "real marriage" doesn't need to be "righted", explain divorce rates, infidelities and whatnot?
A sin is a sin is a sin. However, in some cases, divorce is not a sin. Just because there are other sins out there doesn't make yet another one acceptable.
hedonistic behavior is also wrong. So...Do they fly a hedonistic flag over the white house?
Hedonists were never as a group, denied housing, jobs, the right to marry etc. Also...I don't think they have a flag
