I'd like to see him involved in international politics - maybe serve as the US ambassador to the UN - but I don't know if he has any interest in doing so.
Oh, please. After the mess he has made in the Middle East with his insane policies? Who knows what his policies even are? They seem to change with the direction of the wind. He is clueless to know what is right, and he has destroyed our credibility with our allies.

I suspect he will do something similar to what Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter did, post-presidency. He'll form a foundation that will focus on doing good works and/or foster social and economic advancement around the country and world.

I've been proud of the work the ex-Democratic presidents have embarked on following their presidencies. They use their visibility and experience for the common good of humanity.

And I give props to W for doing the same. It was for the common good that he quietly go away, paint pictures of his toes, and is never heard from again.

What "post-presidency"?

According to Alan Keyes, I thought "Obama is going to destroy The United States of America."

Lol.

Agree with all the comments about Bush, but for such a reluctant president, Obama sure did drop bombs, steal our money and trample our rights with gusto.
So long as he takes his ambition somewhere that cant hurt us anymore, I'll be satisfied.

Threads like these show idolizing pathological personalities to be an illness all of its own.

The guy can't speak! Are you kidding? He's a lousy speaker. Sheeesh. Are people really going to be so foolish to throw their money away to hear this fool?

Well, people apparently pay to hear Sarah Palin spout word salad. Unless you are going for the comedy value of her speeches I don't see why anyone would pay her the price of a Big Gulp.

And come on, nononsenseguy, the one thing even the right generally concedes is that Obama is a good public speaker. I know you can't stand the guy, but he can definitely give a great speech.

He is the first president in a long, long time who will likely leave office on a high note. Even Clinton, who is so popular today, was not that way the day he left office. Gore's handlers even saw him as a liability on the campaign.

Obama is a dreamer. He is not going to spend his time making speeches just to pad his bank account. I think his heart is still that community organizer in Chicago and I see him returning there and trying to solve that city's horrible youth violence problem and, by extension, working toward improving opportunity for black kids around the country.

I don't know what the position is called (Chairman, Commissioner, King, etc.) but I'm guessing he would like the position of the top banana of the PGA. Maybe he could do something about those ugly green jackets...

But seriously...no, actually heading the PGA isn't a bad job for an avid golfer. And he could also do a couple of ex-President speeches to make money. He's good at that. Actually, he could combine the golf and ex-President speeches...

Maybe he could start a World Golfing League.

He doesn't even go on vacation to Chicago.

Great post. I think he is going to use his status to champion some issue. What issue? I'm not sure.
