I did not vote for Obama in either election. And I am hardly a Kool-Aid drinker. I am not willing to abandon the party of Hubert Horatio Humphrey, Henry Jackson or Harry S. Truman. The less said about some of our other alleged greats, such as FDR and JFK (I have posted on this abundantly elsewhere).
I suspect Jackson and Truman would have long since abandoned the party because it is an entirely different beast that it was in their day. Not so sure about Humphrey, he was pretty left.
Why is it that when a white guy walks into a church and slaughters black people he's properly labeled a murderous, hating, racist supremacist. Yet when an Islamist walks in and kills US servicemen, the left look for excuses to say he is a "disturbed" or "mentally ill" young man that just couldn't hack it in America?
It must be very disappointing to you guys that Obama spoke very elegantly and in detail about each one of these Marines and the sailor who was slain in Chattanooga today because it doesn't fit your agenda of hatred toward the guy.
What he says and what he sincerely means are completely different things. Anybody can speak with "elegance" but that doesn't mean anything, especially when it comes to anything Obama says.
What gets me is why it took so long for the White House to order flags flown at half staff. Gay rights? The White House is immediately bathed in rainbow colors. Marines and a Sailor murdered? Nothing until a week later.
There has been much media focus on the mental health and family troubles of Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, see this article Family Troubles Before Killings in Chattanooga as an example. This is typical of the rank psychobabble that surrounds this tragedy. Many, including much of the media and our President are dancing around calling this and similar attacks what they are; radical Islam.
We know from his passionate eulogy at the Charleston church that he can speak with conviction. Not here though. Obama referred to this as a "heartbreaking circumstance for these individuals who have served our country with great valor to be killed in this fashion...." As a deep blue Democrat, I don't ask that Obama shed his agenda for change; all I ask is that he care about those fighting for America more than those leeching off it.
He was treated by a psychiatrist since he was 13, he was manic depressive, had bipolar disorder and used a variety of drugs, but of course it's Islam.
By the way many people have been supportive of releasing non-violent offenders from both parties including the Koch Brothers, DA's, judges and law enforcement. Putting someone away for 20 years for marijuana dealing has been a point of contention for years.

There were plenty of descriptions of the church murderer as being "disturbed" and "mentally ill". But he ALSO stated publicly that he wanted to start a race war.
