The urban camo attired, tribal tatted, MIA-listening, scrappy, fist-raising progessive left is okay with turning a previously thriving Libya into a no-man's land of chaos, then arming a future ISIS with weapons from three Benghazi warehouses in order to topple a stable Syria.
Both nations, BTW, that had state-run central banks (and not private banking-family controlled ones). Syria still does for the moment.
You mean that Libya were John "Aint no war I dont like" McCain and several other GOPers actually wanted even more involvement in and even took photo ops with ISIS soldiers?

As I've stated many times in threads you've contributed to; at this stage of the game that would merely support all suspicions the government was in full tyrannical mode and get you all to digging holes in your yard to bury your arms stash.
I believe there is no option at this juncture but for the majority (not simply a 51% either) to agree there is an out of control problem with the only solution being a limiting of purchase to very strict guidelines and a forced policing of the laws currently standing.
The majority of Americans have no desire to regress to the 1850's and once realizing that is the road they're on without any of it dictated by threat from anyone other than their fellow citizens, they'll begin to get loud in their condemnation of all this unrestrained gun ownership. It's not as if you're out there protecting yourselves from a government run amock or a foreign country about to invade you, it's your own citizens you're all afraid of and for good reason, they're the ones with the guns!
I don't think that point has been reached yet.......... but It's coming as sure as summer follows spring.
In other words, you believe we ought to remove the "Right" to bear arms and start treating it as a privilege, to where even someone with a completely clean criminal record and mental health record could be denied the purchase of a gun for any reason, or no reason at all, according to the arbitrary discretion of an arbitrary authority....
Great, now we're getting somewhere. Obviously I don't agree with you, but what you propose at least is a real solution.
Semantics. If you "want" one then. It isn't a punishment if you can still have a gun if you "choose" to own one, or not own one. All freedoms are restricted in some way - for example, it is not OK to broadcast pornography on daytime television. Why is it that the slightest mention of "regulation" on gun ownership gets people all fired up about "freedom" or "tyranny" or some other crap?
Because particularly when we're talking about guns, regulation will just lead to more regulation. Take any advanced country as evidence.
Ban "assault weapons"...... Then when the next guy does a mass shooting with a handgun, you'll want to ban those. Then the next guy'll use a shotgun, so we'll ban all pump action shotguns. Then we'll ban all guns that hold more than one round, etc. and on it goes.
What you're left with is a gutted 2A completely unrecognizable, not that you think that's a bad thing, but many others do and that's why they get all "fired up"
Is anyone really surprised that just like Dylan Roof this guy was a Republican/Conservative/TeaPartier full of anti-US government and minority hatred brought on by years of hate-filled conservative media enragement?
Heck even the Chattanooga/TN arab-american shooter wanted to be labeled an "American Redneck"!
Folks, buying enough guns to fill a basement and hating on the US government incessantly is not normal - get help if you are such a conservative, please!

If there was a gun involved, the body count would have been much higher.
A gun is a weapon - what part of the word "weapon" do you not understand? An entity meant to kill almost instantly.
They must be poorly designed then, because as I recollect, most shootings turn out to be non-fatal.
