I want to see the progressive liberal counter to her. As badly as everyone is commenting here about this young lady; can you imagine a liberal 22 yo chick whining about everything this one called down?
Go on and laugh at her; where were you at 22? I would love to see the proffered debate; ever been on a stage in front of that many people and try to put your point across? It's daunting as a musician; I can't imagine having to give a monologue in front of those who do it for a living.
Be glad there are some youngsters who aren't mindless liberal drones. And I do mean mindless. I know of too many middle aged drones who open their mouths and BS spews forth. They accuse me of being "a conservative" for not holding their hands and singing Kumbaya. In other words, I don't see eye to eye with them. What I say gets knee jerk reactions.
Just because you're a bad public speaker doesn't mean everyone is. I was giving fine public presentations at that age. I was also building a successful program in my company and engaging nuanced philosophical concepts that had nothing to do with left versus right where your mind is trapped.
I was thinking for myself, pushing new depths of understanding. I think the most disappointing element of this is she's being rewarded for telling people what they already believe and getting rewarded because she's young, privileged, and, by her own admission, notbwell traveled or experienced with the world beyond her small town.
You should expect more out of grown adults, even young ones.
We were able to hold things together for nearly a century even with our history and our oh so dreaded immigration and mixed race rah rah nonsense that doesn't really matter. So why are we collapsing now in a time where the few at the top own so much of the capital and none of it has trickled down to the middle class since the 80's? Meanwhile, we've been passed by Sweden (and Norway) in GDP per capita and median income per capita, despite their massive immigration from those evil Muslims and their welfarey ways.
Ask me a coherent question and don't misquote me, then we'll talk.
She doesn't want government near her body - hmmm its the R's that want ultrasounds up her vag. Her "facts" are lacking. yet another case of "they said it on the internet" so it must be true. I would have expected better from a "newscaster".
After WW I, the Soviet Union was no threat to us at all. Not true after WW II.
China was not on the verge of becoming a threat to us. Not true after WW II.
Our friends the British and the French had secure control of their colonies and added more (taking over the Ottomon Empire) -- their empires were not about to start collapsing. Not true after WW II.
At Versailles, what America wanted, America was in a position to get. And the American economy boomed during the twenties. So yes, America was at its height of power right after WW I.

I'm sorry for being smart. The poster made it seem like most 22 year olds couldn't put together a coherent, original thought, and I pointed out that's not true.
This pride in being anti-intellectual is such a tragedy of our society. The same people who want unequivocal survival of the fittest economics seem threatened when anyone is more intelligent that the average.
